Two interesting pieces. I'd be curious to hear more commentary on this, Nick. I know you're implicitly linking this to Moore's argument about the Enclosure movement in early modern England, but I'd like to see exactly how you make the connection. Is the land that Daewoo leasing in Madagascar part of the commons? Or is it already under some sort of property regime? If it is common land, who did the 'enclosing'? Was it the government of Madagascar, or some private agency?
