Reading over Sanders' article (which is a link at the bottom of this post), I noticed that there seems to fluidity with the definition of what "transgender" means. Even with those that work towards helping this minority group, there tends to a variety of terms to refer to these people. The lack of a strong definition of what a transgender is within this minority group is what holding this group from having the government being able to help them. If this group cannot come up with a definition what "transgender" means, how does it expect those within the government be able to come up with laws that regards this minority group?
For my paper, I need to place a focus of what transgender means. There seems to be articles that constantly change the terms that they use to a transgender person, and a result, it can make reader become more confused before they started to read the article. I don't want to come off arrogant when I write in this paper that this is what "transgender" means. I just feel that there is lack of definition as to what this word means when it defines part of what a person is. If I want to be able to succeed in writing on this subject, I have to be ambitious to write about what being "transgender" means.
The focus of my paper will have to become more focused on what being a transgender individual in Malaysia. Any other points that I will be making in my paper concerning the LGBT community and women will be to showcase how the lack of definition affects this community. I will be making small comparisons between these groups as to show that government is assuming that each group is the same. Due to the lack of definition of what transgender is, it is holding this minority group back.

I don't think you needed a focused definition of 'transgender' a general one with do. Because I don't think there is one way to define this word. They are so many branches in transgenderism, like their are in 'gay' for there are bisexual, lesbians, etc...so by giving it a focused definition you might actually be narrowing it down, to something that doesn't actually embody all it should. But then again, that will always be a problem with any definition to create.
